“If this is the spirit of the east, point me toward the sunrise.”
– SEE; Edmonton’s Arts and Entertainment Magazine “Who can make you laugh so hard that tears start coming? Buddy Wasisname, that’s who!”
- The Leader, Barrhead, Alberta
“The trio’s manic mix of wacko humour, colorful characterizations and sweetly sung homespun ballads crossed all generations and musical preferences to win over virtually everyone in the audience regardless of age, temperament or sophistication.”
- Dryden Entertainment Series, The Dryden Observer
“Saltwater Joys (is) one of my all time favourite records. Brilliant.”
- Mike Skipper, Country Music Presenter East Sussex, England
“If laughter is the best medicine, Buddy Wasisname & The Other Fellers are the miracle cure of the 90s.”
– Grand Falls Advertiser
“This trio of Newfoundland entertainers could market the elasticity of Buddy’s face alone, for two solid hours of entertainment. This flex-a- faced, turbo-powered piece of Newfoundland biology, stage-named Buddy, became in the course of the evening, not just a complete percussion ensemble courtesy of evety body part imaginable, but he also became a piston firing, “son of a horn” tootin’ automobile in the song, Me Car.
– The North Bay Nugget
“…somebody has to be the best, what’s intriguing is what made them such a sensation: A unique melding of traditional and folk music, shot right up the middle with the zaniest humour this side of Monty Python.”
- The Sunday Express, St. John ’s, Newfoundland
“During the course of the evening, the rubber faced Buddy, dressed in what can only be described as castoffs from Ed Grimley and K.D. Lang, and appearing at times to be a cross between a slightly bewildered Tom Smothers and a Maritime Gomer Pyle, held the audience in the palm of his hand.”
– Fredericton Gleaner, New Brunswick

We saw you guys here in Ottawa just the beginning of may and it was an excellent show, we sat in the very front row and it was so much fun. However your show was exactly like the previous years show , same skits and same jokes. I love your music and preach about it to all my friends here in Ottawa area. I love seeing you guys and the music never gets old. Keep up the awesome entertainment.
My family and I saw your show on thursday at the Arts and Culture Center in St. John’s. Have gone to see your shows almost every time your back in town, and every show we never leave without a smile on our face and tears on our cheeks. The songs, the jokes, the skits, it never gets old , we always have such a great time
Thanks ! Ye are all remarkable !
Thanks Ashley: That makes us truly happy.
Buddy
Hey Buddy ( Kevin )
Forgot to mention to you when we spoke briefly after the show but another fantastic show & the new stuff is amazing. My Grandson ( Brandon ) thoroughly loved his first time seeing you. Looking forward to seeing you all again in April 2013 : )
Thanks again for a wonderful evening of entertainment .
Hi Guys;
If there was only a way to someday get to see you perform here in between the Arts and Culture Centre Tours, I’d be a happy camper.
What about the people here that cannot get out to see you? You have many fans that love your music and skits.
Enjoyed your latest cd and wish that the venue was here, but will see you when you come back again unless you can provide a miracle.
Thanks for your patience.
Hi Kevin;
I would like to ask you a question. When you wrote the song ” SleepyTime Motel,” where did you get te idea from? Where do you get your ideas for the many skits that you and the boys perform? You all have such creative minds and good musicians.
Keep on being creative.
Hi Guys;
Heard a couple of songs from the duo called FREE BEER the other day Not bad. Please contact
if you can perform for seniors
Would like to hear the response when you read this.
Hi Cathy: Free Beer was active from 1979 to 1982 and it was a lot of fun, it included Chris Lorne Elliott and me, and was in a way our formative years experience in entertainment. Thanks for the mention. As for playing for seniors, we do it all the time at each of our shows. Our shows are general audience and not restricted.
Thanks
Kevin
